The face behind Lyrical Acres and Anne Smith Dressage is Anne Smith, an EA Level 2 Dressage Specialist and Level 1 General Coach based at Lewiston in South Australia. Anne has been competing in Dressage for over 20 years up to and including Grand Prix level.

Anne describes her way of training as “modern classical” using the German training scale and with an emphasis on the relaxation and softness in the way the horses are going. She also has an interest in the biomechanics of the rider’s position and the effectiveness of the rider’s aids. An encouraging coach, Anne believes good test riding comes from confidence within the horse and rider as a combination.
